Frequently Asked Questions
In order to meet all requests, we do not select holidaymakers according to their disability. Everyone is welcome, and we respond to every request with a personalised offer. What's more, we tailor the holiday (support, accommodation, transport, etc.) to the wishes and disabilities of each individual.
Our individual, group and children's holidays are designed to meet your expectations as closely as possible, with a personalised profile to complete. Finding suitable accommodation and transport, as well as accessible places to visit and restaurants, is part of our daily work.
BEHANDI is the only agency to guarantee professional, salaried and experienced assistance. Our mission is to guarantee the well-being of our holidaymakers, and escorting is a profession.
To meet everyone's needs, our guides come from a wide range of backgrounds. Your carer may be a care assistant, a nurse, a medical-psychological assistant, a specialised educator, a social worker... The important thing is to find THE right person to help you enjoy YOUR holiday.
The tasks of the carer :
- Making contact before the holiday
- Driving the vehicle
- Entertainment and visits
- Personal assistance
- Handling medical equipment
- Managing medical treatments
The qualities of a carer :
- Empathy
- Adaptability
- Patience
- Listening
- Concern for well-being
- Availability
We maintain the same high standards for all our stays at BEHANDI, HANDIVAO and HANDIKOLO.
Each carer receives all the information and best practices needed to ensure that our values and methods, based on caring and individualised care, are understood and assimilated. Care objectives are set and the responsibility of the carer is contractually committed.

For tailor-made holidays for individuals and groups:
Transport is provided by our guides. The pick-up point is at your home or place of residence.
The mode of transport is chosen according to your destination and your needs (train, plane, adapted vehicle).
For pre-programmed group holidays for adults and children:
When you register for a pre-programmed holiday, your pick-up point is confirmed. We will always recommend trips with meeting points close to your home. The only exception is for people with ‘high dependency needs’, who benefit from a home pick-up service.
If you have opted for a tailor-made holiday, our guides will collect the whole group directly from the home!
We work with TPMR vehicles, 9-seater minibuses or comfortable 5-seater vehicles, depending on the size and needs of the group. For group trips abroad, a transfer by train or plane can also be arranged.
Optimum journeys:
- Individualised care, with exchanges between the accompanying team and the host family
- Appointments made in advance to avoid waiting times
- Great comfort for holidaymakers and carers alike
- Reduced journey times
- Linear routes with no tedious detours
